Day 2! I can do this!

Day 2 started with a phone call from my dad and he invited us all out for biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs and fruit :( Before we headed out to my dads I sautéed some fresh mushrooms, jalapenos with the IP herb and cheese omelet and hot sauce, of course. I guzzled down 12oz of water and morning vitamins. We headed to my dads and my belly was full! I had some fresh cucumbers in my purse in case of an emergency! We visited and I drank 2 cups of coffee with French vanilla splenda. I reached for the grapes a few times, but caught myself.
After leaving my dads I headed to Aldi's for groceries for the week. I stocked up on fresh produce, veggie steamers and protein. When I got home my stomach started to make some noises. I made some detox water last night and it was all ready for today http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=363742 I use fresh mint leaves, not the tea bags. I drank 12 oz of water and warmed up some water to make the NEW non restricted Apple oatmeal. I added a little cinnamon and diced up zucchini to the oatmeal. The zucchini tasted like little pieces of apple. I was satisfied :)!
After running kids to basketball practices I prepped for the week. I chopped up all my veggies and put them in baggies, made a HUGE salad for tomorrow and made a big batch of "Select Veggie" soup. I was ready for the week.
It was windy and chilly out so I went through some old notes in a book I read a few months ago. The book is called 10 Simple Solutions for Building Self-Esteem http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Solutions-Building-Self-Esteem-Self-Doubt/dp/157224495X I go back to this book often to remind myself that there are a lot of positive changes that can be made to myself. I love Chapter 3 of this book, Clear Away Negative thoughts. I often think the worst or make negative assumptions. When really that's not the case at all. This chapter gives suggestions and tips to make the best of situations, people and things that we don't always have control of. I would greatly recommend this book, it is also a quick read :)
After a hour of relaxing it was time to get dinner ready. I thawed out some turkey burger and made Asian Coleslaw. The link refers to the recipe as Crack Slaw, sorry, I didn't name it :/ It is VERY good tho! I have made it with chicken, beef, ground turkey and shrimp! You can also double the recipe and have leftovers. http://www.food.com/recipe/crack-slaw-low-carb-434863
I'm wanting to make this a overall health change mentally, physically and healthy. I made plans to go to yoga and it was time for class before dinner was ready. I ate a bar and drank some water on my way to the gym.  I'm excited that day 2 is going very well! Yoga starts and I'm feeling good. I follow the instructor and I go into a forward fold and wrap my arms around my thighs as instructed. As I'm in this position I start to get a little light headed. Not sure if it is the fact that I haven't had dinner or if I'm just disgusted with the fact that I feel like I have a flotation device around my waist :( Ugh, dang it! Why did I let this weight come back on???  I stand up and take a drink of water and start to feel better. I finished class and I'm happy I went and didn't leave in the middle of class.
It was nice to come home to dinner being ready and feeling like I had accomplished day 2 with success!
Before starting this journey I was making excuses, taking short cuts and giving myself a free pass to eat and drink what I wanted for whatever reason.  Was it because I missed my son that is in the Air Force, Past guilt, self doubt or I just didn't care? I'm trying to figure it all out! One thing I do know is that I don't like to feel out of control in any situation. I know that I do have control of my actions and what I consume.  I went to bed with a sense of peace and knowing that I can do this! It's never to late to make changes in life!
