7 days, 1 week on Ideal Protein Complete!!! :)

Day 7 on the Ideal Protein Program.  YAAAAHHHHOOOO! I made it a week :D! After watching the Biggest Loser last night, I had all the motivation I needed to keep me on the program. I am so excited, yet nervous for my weekly weigh in tomorrow.  I have followed the program 100% and I feel great!  Today I enjoyed a chocolate drink for breakfast and mixed it with my coffee.  That is always a good start to my day.
For lunch I drank 32 oz of water, had some IP mushroom soup with fresh mushrooms and cauliflower mixed in.  I also really like spicy food, spicy food also speeds up the metabolism by about 8%, http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/fitness/weight-loss/how-spicy-foods-can-speed-up-your-metabolism.html so I made the spicy coleslaw.  It makes 8 servings, does not take long to make and you can eat it as part of your 4 cups of select veggies.
Spicy Coleslaw:
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, or to taste
2 tablespoons rice vinegar or freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 small clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh chile, like jalapeño, Thai, serrano, or habanero, or to taste (optional)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
6 cups cored and shredded Napa, Savoy, green, and/or red cabbage
1 large red or yellow bell pepper, cored, seeded, and diced or shredded
1/3 cup chopped scallion, more or less
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves
1. To make the dressing, whisk together the mustard and vinegar in a small bowl, along with the garlic and chile. Add the oil a little at a time, whisking all the while.

2. Combine the cabbage, bell pepper, and scallion and toss with the dressing. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and refrigerate until ready to serve. (It’s best to let the slaw rest for an hour or so to allow the flavors to mellow; the cabbage will also soften a bit and exude some juice. You can let it sit longer, up to 24 hours, if you like. Drain the slaw before continuing.) Just before serving, toss with the parsley.

My afternoon was extra  busy, lots of clients stopping in to get food and schedule their appointment to get started or RE-Started.  I hope you Know that it is never to late to get started on a healthy new you! If you paid the consultation fee you are ALWAYS welcome to come back!  Around 3 I had a couple sweet peppers and I was content.  I am NOT hungry at all now.  It is actually hard to get all of the required food in.

I prepared dinner this morning before I left for work.  I put a 5 pound pork loin in the crock pot, added 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar Splenda, 2 cans of Sauerkraut and 2 cans of water.  Added some pepper, Mrs Dash and a little garlic.  Covered and set on low.  It cooked all day and when it was time for dinner at 6pm all I had to do was make a side salad and put my veggie steamers in the microwave. Dinner was ready :)

Like I said, tomorrow is my first weigh in, I had to do some physical activity today!!! I went to a hour long yoga class after dinner and it was the best one I have attended yet! Great stretches, music and the instructor was great! The class went so fast and I felt like I got a great workout. After class, I drank more water.  I try to get at least 120oz daily.

When I get home from the gym I'm in the mood for something sweet, hmmmm. I weigh in tomorrow and I do not want to do a restricted this late in the evening.  I'm not in the mood for any pickles, veggies, tea or a IP drink. I go through some notes and I see Chocolate Cake :) The chocolate drink is a NON RESTRICTED and I love cake. Next time your craving something sweet try this recipe.

Chocolate Cake in a Mug (this is a non restricted option)

1 Pkg Ideal Protein Chocolate Drink mix
1 Egg white
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Splenda
Splash of Vanilla Extract

Put the drink mix in a big mug, add enough water to make it a pudding consistency. Add all other ingredients and stir until silky smooth. Put in the microwave for 3 minutes (on top of a big plate). Let cool and top with Walden Farms Marshmallow cream, WF Chocolate syrup or WF Caramel Syrup. Enjoy

I personally like the Marshmallow cream best.

While enjoying my snack I get to watch some of The Biggest Loser www.biggestloser.com  and it is both motivating, yet emotional again tonight.  It really hits close to home for me.  I have alot of friends/clients that have accomplished so much and I am extremely proud of them all!!!

I know alot of clients know this about the Ideal Protein Program but I want to remind you that with this program you will experience not only decreased weight, BMI and Body Fat.  You will also experience better over all health! Your cholesterol, Blood Pressure and Fasting Glucose levels will improve.  You will have more energy and appetite control.  You will burn fat and maintain your muscle mass.  This diet will also improve all anti inflammatory issues, migraines, arthritis, acid reflux, joint pain, IBS, fibromyalgia and lots more. I know I can sometimes get fixated on the # on the scale with my own personal weight, but I need to remember it is even more important to be healthy on the inside. www.idealprotein.com

Have a wonderful evening!
