Tuesdays are my half day at work, I'm off at noon. It is a great day for me to run errands and clean my house. Today was going to be a little different from normal because I had a couple afternoon meetings and Noah had a Basketball game and Basketball practice.
I started the day with a bowl of Non restricted Maple oatmeal, 12oz of water, supplements and a cup of coffee with cinnamon :) YUMM! I was reminded by my husband to make sure to vote today and he reminded me of my craziness of last night. He said he was voting for the mayor of crazytown, me :(! I was a bit off the handle last night.
After dropping Noah off at school and voting I headed into work for few hours. This time through with the diet I am really needing some new ideas and wanting to mix it up a little. I love meeting with my clients daily and hearing some of the brilliant ideas they have to stay on track. I'm in a mentally different place. I had taken a few steps back in my food journey and went to old habits... Eating large servings, not drinking water and eating mindlessly. This is something that I have control of once again and I'm feeling good! I have to remember that food is something that I struggle with and I have to stay accountable! It can quickly take control if I don't watch it. I have to be more mindful in the future for occasions that may trigger a bad eating or drinking situation. A couple books to take a look at are http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/comfort-cravings/201112/8-must-read-books-mindful-eating. All are great and offer lots of suggestions.
Lunch consisted of a vanilla shake with cinnamon (cinnamon has a lot of health benefits and are allowed on phase 1) http://cinnamonvogue.com/cinnamoncommonuses.html and a cup of cucumbers on the way to my meeting that started at 12:30. At my meeting I ran into a couple of past clients that thanked me for blogging and putting it out there. It is nice to hear that they are reading it and also supporting me :).
Noah had a school basketball game that ended 6pm and then practice for club basketball at 6:30pm. We had to stop and get something freaky fast. Jimmy Johns is always a great choice! I ordered the #4 (Turkey Tom) double meat, no mayo, add alfalfa sprouts & mustard. I also added a pickle instead of chips and a cookie, this counts as part of 4 cups of veggies for the day. I don't recommend eating deli meat often but on occasion is okay.
After my final meeting of the day I was exhausted and not really even hungry. I got home and my husband Robert had a Wildberry yogurt shake and a cup of sleepy time tea ready to help me unwind after a busy day. Having support during this process is crucial! Before starting this journey I asked for complete support by my family and coworkers! Without it I was more likely not to stick to strict phase 1. Robert has told me a couple times that he is proud of me and he is here for me no matter what. Those little words of encouragement can make all the difference in my mood.
It was time for bed and another day of success is in the books. I am not worrying about tomorrow, next week or next month. I am living for today and taking situations as they come my way.
